Dive Sites in Bali - Padang bai

Padang bai  the small harbour village, twenty minutes drive from Puri Bagus,is not
only the starting point for Nusa Penida and Nusa Lembongan but has fine dive sites of its own.
“Blue Lagoon”, very attractive to snorkellers, is also well-suited for check dives, for leisurely dives with no or gentle currents or for beginners. It is fairly shallow with some coral blocks strewn across the sand but gets deeper once you have left the sandy part (5 – 16 meters) There is an amazing variety of rare species, nudibranch, frogfish and leaf fish as well as stonefish.
Tanjung Sari is said to be the most interesting of sites in Padang bai since you find unusual kinds of shark here like the Wobbegong and nurse shark, but also the smaller inhabitants of this area.

Tanjung Silayukti  is just around the corner of Tanjung Sari and you will probably find white tip reef shark; if you venture further round the corner, you will come to a short wall at 18 meters. This is where the ferry channel begins, stay deep and close to the rock when the ferry passes – some find it thrilling to watch the huge propellers from down below.
