Dive Sites in Bali - North-West Coast (Pemuteran Area)
Until recently, most divers were mainly attracted by the steep walls of Menjangan Island and Critter’s Paradise at Gilimanuk Secret Bay.
In the meantime, dive operators have discovered various astounding sites along the coast which need not shy competition with Menjangan or Secret Bay as far as steep walls, “muck diving” and the variety of under-water life are concerned.
So far 11 sites have been discovered which can be easily reached within 5 to 20 minutes by boat from Adi Assri, a small, brand new hotel with comfortable rooms, swimming pool, Spa and direct access to the sea.
All dive sites boast a variety of soft coral and marine life, unusual nudibranch, frogfish, rays, baby shark and “critters” as well as wrecks at various depths. Divers with little experience as well as the almost “professional” will find a site suiting their desires and capabilities. Some spectacular, although demanding, sites include Temple Wall and Temple Garden radiating a slightly “spooky” atmosphere. Depths range from 12 to over 40 m. The Bio-rock artificial reef project is also worth a visit.
For accompanying non-divers there are various good snorkelling sites.
The attached dive base, run by Sea Rovers, also newly established and equipped with 12 full new sets of diving gear, 35 new tanks, an MCH 13 Coltri Compressor; it also boasts a fine new speed boat, accommodating 6 divers, it can reach Menjangan from Adi Assri within 20 to 30 minutes depending on the weather.
