Dive Sites in Bali - Gili Tepekong

Gili Tepekong
is the most famous of the three rocks in Amuk Bay, a dive site with large schools of sweetlips and jackfish, shark, tuna, bumphead parrot fish, Napoleon, cuttlefish, ray, turtle, moray eels, and in season the Mola-Mola as well as various species of crab and small fish.
The usually current-swept rock offers basically three different dive sites ranging from ten to over thirty meters. The most infamous, “The Canyon”, attracts many divers but it is definitely among the most dangerous sites in Bali as it can produce an extremely strong down current under certain conditions that even causes bubbles to swirl down – a real “flush toilet”

Provided the tide as well as the cycle of the moon are favourable, our dive masters will take you there and let you experience the awe-inspiring character of “The Canyon”

Melali-ScubaDiving ‘s dive masters have been diving Tepekong for over 10 years, are well-acquainted with the site and ensure you have a safe dive, so please do not argue their choice of the site. All dive sites are beautiful in their own respect; you find big boulders teeming with life, a steep wall with a cave at 28 meters, going up through a chimney and ending at 16 meters. Owing to the prevailing strong currents, soft coral growth is sparse but you do find beautiful species in more secluded areas.
